The fourth winter intensive.
Cairo, 6 to 16 January 2027. The fee is announced closer to the time. Register your interest and you will hear from us first.
The intensive is not an online course. Students travel to Cairo and sit with Shaykh Yūsuf b. Ṣādiq al-Ḥanbalī for the length of the programme.
It has run every year since February 2024. The shape has held from the first one: at least six hours of lessons a day, and two hours of reading alongside them, in the same room and in front of the same teacher.
How the day runs كيف يسير اليوم
Six hours of intensive lessons and two hours of reading, and often more. Several texts are taken in the course of the programme, and they are not confined to one field: fiqh alongside ʿaqīdah, ḥadīth alongside adab, according to what the group is ready for.
The reading is part of the programme rather than homework, because reading in front of a teacher who can be stopped and asked is most of the reason for travelling.
Time out of the room goes to the Islamic sites of the city: Ḥanbalī sites, the old mosques such as al-Azhar, and the burial places of the scholars.
What is settled, and what is not ما استقر وما لم يستقر
Settled: the teacher, the city, the dates above, and the daily footing. Not yet settled: the fee, and what is covered by it. In the three previous years the fee has excluded flights, and in the third year it excluded accommodation as well.
The books are not published in advance. They are settled with the students, and requests made at registration are taken into account.
Places المقاعد
Places are few. The third intensive had ten, given first come first served, and registering early is the only thing that helps. An instalment option has been available each year against a deposit. If cost is the obstacle, say so on the form.
